Lent 2014: What Ya Giving Up?

Happy Hump Day and Happy Ash Wednesday, or the day that I officially give up sweets in my office. Are you giving up anything for Lent? I always like to try and give up something, just for the challenge to see if I can do it. Last year I attempted (and failed) to give up cheese. I seriously lasted two weeks. Like, what? Cheese??? A couple years before that I gave up Cheez-Its (I have cheese addictions) and was actually able to do it, although it was very difficult. What can I say - I love my snacks especially if they involve cheese.

Anyways, this time around I am giving up all sweets that enter my office (and only in my office, because I have to be realistic here). The beginning of March and all the way into May is the Upfront season in my industry and my office is inundated with sweets. We are talking endless cookies, cupcakes, cakes, cookie cakes, candy, doughnuts, muffins... The list goes on! It's so easy to gain 5-10 extra pounds during the Upfront season and it's all because of these dangerous desserts. Typical Kelsey is so pumped to see a Georgetown Cupcake box floating around my office. But as long as I give up office sweets for Lent, I will not be indulging. I'll also just keep thinking about my stomach in a bikini come MDW. See ya later chocolate ganache Georgetown Cupcake. Maybe we''ll meet again on April 21 for a nice post lunch dessert ;)



  1. I might have to steal your idea... although I'm not sure how many treats were going to be receiving in the next 40 days. Over the holidays it seriously looked like Willy Wonka's chocolate factory here... and I definitely gained that 5-10lbs. Icck!

  2. I think I'm going to try to give up fries. I definitely have them more than I should, and it's something that realistically I think I can pull off. Here's hoping!
