Sunday Meals: Homemade Pizza

Wednesday, January 15, 2014
^^ Yum.
These delicious pizzas are brought to you by myself and Jessica. For Christmas, Jess got the perfect book for our apartment: The Can't Cook Cook Book. It tells you how to do kitchen things that you should already know, but don't; how to chop garlic, how to cook asparagus, etc. The book's best tutorial: how to make homemade pizza! So last Sunday we strolled around our neighborhood in search of fresh pizza dough in hopes of making one of my favorite foods. Yes, pizza is a favorite food of mine.

This was the easiest recipe - and although the fire alarm may have gone off 3 different times and smoke was flying out the oven - it was quite the success.

Ingredients:
-1 pound fresh pizza dough
-1/2 cup of marinara sauce
-8 oz. mozzarella
-Basil leaves, or...if your grocery store is out of basil (cough, Key Food, cough), pepperoni

Prep:
1. Preheat oven to 475 degrees
2. Knead out dough to about 8 inches diameter
3. Spread marinara sauce over the flattened dough
3. Chop mozzarella and place onto pizza
4. Place basil/pepperoni onto pizza
5. Sprinkle with oregano
6. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Voila!
